Today, human resource managers have to devise strategies that are ‘glocal’ – global yet local.

01.Recruitment
Today’s workforce is a mix of on-site/off-site teams and remote/virtual teams across different locations, genders, age and ethics.

 02.Compensation
Employees always want more – whether it is the basic salary, perks or benefits. Compensation is the primary motivator for any person.

 03. Training
Every newly hired candidate has to be taken through training regarding the company’s policies and procedures as well as his or her job role.

04.Labour Laws
Obviously, labour laws vary from one country to another. The human resource managers are required to have a thorough knowledge of international and domestic labour laws or else the company may find itself in a legal soup.

 05.Attracting Talent
Today’s employees want to join organizations on their terms. The right employees are those who can fit into the culture of the organization.

06.Communication
The world never sleeps! If one country is closing its office, the other may be just opening or in full swing business hours.

 07.Succession Planning
What if an employee quits or is transferred or promoted? Is there someone who can fill the position quickly? Such dilemmas can be avoided by succession planning and leadership development programs.

 08.Change Management
Change is the only constant in life. Unfortunately, organizations face a major employee resistance when a change is implemented.

 09.Privacy and Security
Human resources department is responsible for employee privacy as well as company information security. Any leakage can have devastating effects on the organization.

Conclusion

Globalization has a most important implication for human resource management practice in general. For some, globalization creates pressures for taking best, a transferable set of HRM practices that can spread around the world. It is a force that touches the lives of people living in all countries of the world. In the age of globalization, there is an opportunity to enter new markets, to improved job opportunities and higher remuneration for skilled employees. The challenges are equally numerous. Organizations need to deal with a mature workforce; and they must attract, integrate and maintain multicultural employment pools; human rights and business practices to be successful.

  4. As part of the human resources role in globalization, the HR department will need to increase support of its current staff as they transfer overseas to new positions. Assistance with visas, work permits, and housing will be required, as well as training in cultural issues and perhaps language acquisition. New local talent must be acquired and developed, as well. A company's ability to move into new markets, will depend on its ability to fill needs with skilled workers.
